This general workshop is for new or experienced local trainers that are looking to learn more ways to deliver safety or craft skills content to workers. Over the course of two days, curriculum design concepts, adult learning theory, coaching skills, effective instruction techniques, and presentation techniques will be addressed. This is a training with something for everyone that is accessible and applicable to all crafts and trainers - new and experienced - with ample time to practice these new skills. It is a rigorous, information-packed, and rewarding two days where participants have the opportunity to learn, work, and network with new and existing IATSE worker-trainers from around the US and Canada.
This is a prerequisite for Train the Trainer: Course Development, a new workshop that builds on the theories covered here while providing hands-on practice designing outlines and lesson plans.
Local unions are invited to select up to three IATSE workers from their local to attend our two-day, customized Train the Trainer workshop. Select experienced local trainers or IATSE workers who you want to develop as new safety or craft skills trainers for your local. Click here for more information.
