The course is intended to demonstrate how to make a soft prop used in film and television. Soft props often come in forms such as weapons and provide a safe way for actors to interact with each other and their environment. We will do a brief overview about mould making, silicones, releases and urethanes, and safety practices. As well as discuss which materials are suited for different prop functions and how to create simple armatures for props.
Learning to prepare and mould basic items
Learning to prepare and mould more difficult items: pieces with holes, undercuts etc.
