Sewing Slippery Fabrics in New York, NY | Local 764

Slippery fabrics such as silks, chiffons, and other natural and synthetic slinky materials are beautiful, but they are a little tricky to work with in comparison to stable fabrics like most cottons and linens. While these fabrics do require a considered approach, the good news is that the basic techniques are straightforward and well within your reach. There's no reason to avoid working with these fabrics. Rather, learn how to handle them so that you get great results!

Mildred Del Rio will help you conquer these lovely fabrics. These techniques will significantly improve the quality of your sewing. You don’t need to be an expert to put these into practice, but you do need to have basic hand and machine sewing knowledge.

  • What are slippery fabrics and why are they difficult to maneuver

  • Best ways to sew by hand and on machine

  • How to control the fabrics so that you are not wasting time
