FAIRFAX, VA — InfoComm International and the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees are pleased to announce a newly developed course entitled Audiovisual Fundamentals for Stage Hands.

This course has been jointly developed by the InfoComm International and an IATSE Working Group and is especially designed to train IATSE members in the fundamentals of the ever expanding audiovisual field. The course is primarily a “hands-on” course in the areas of audio, projection, AV/IT, presentation platforms and also features hospitality training.

Members who complete with passing grades the four day “hands-on” portion along with prescribed InfoComm online courses will receive a certificate of recognition of their abilities.

“Now in our third year of providing education for IATSE members, InfoComm is pleased to provide customized solutions to help stagehands learn more about the rapidly changing AV landscape,” said Melissa Taggart, Senior Vice President, Education and Certification, InfoComm International. “With a greater emphasis on the network, these courses will help IATSE members help their customers even more effectively.”

These classes will be available to IATSE Locals based on a demonstrated need. Those Locals interested in these classes should contact Liz Campos, or Ben Adams at
