LinkedIn Learning Local Union Curator

The LinkedIn Learning Local Union Curator role was introduced in 2023 to better support training at the local level. The new role of LinkedIn Learning Curator replaces the role of Sub-Admin and gives IATSE local unions the ability to customize training even more.

What can a LinkedIn Learning local union curator do?

Each local union’s LinkedIn Learning Curator can customize the learning experience for their workers.

  • Upload custom content: Upload your course materials like videos, slide shows, and documents, which can be included in a Learning Path. Custom content can only be edited and/or deleted by the Local Union Curator, so it’s private and secure. You can find the parameters for uploading content here.

  • Link to outside content: A Learning Path can include links to outside content, such as YouTube videos or videos hosted on your website, online response forms, or other online resources.

  • Create and recommend Learning Paths: Create custom Learning Paths for different crafts using courses offered by LinkedIn Learning, your custom content, or a combination of the two. Recommend your Learning Paths to one, some, or all of your local workers.

  • Assign content: Assign your Learning Paths and include a due date for time-sensitive training programs.

  • Track progress and completions: Track the progress and completion of your recommended Learning Paths.

Promote LinkedIn Learning Subscriptions

To maximize the efforts of your LinkedIn Learning Local Union Curator, we highly recommend promoting the LinkedIn Learning Subscription program to your members. When more of your members have LinkedIn Learning accounts, your local union will be able to take even greater advantage of all the benefits that come from having a Local Union Curator.

Local unions can utilize our ready-to-use Social Media Assets to promote LinkedIn Learning across various web and social media platforms. If you need additional support, please get in touch with us.

How Do We Apply?

The Local Union Curator must be an officer of the local (i.e., local union president, secretary treasurer, BA, or training coordinator). The officer completing and submitting the curator application must be an officer other than the individual listed as the designated Local Union Curator on the application. Please have a local officer email the completed application to lil@iatsetrainingtrust.org. Once your Local Union Curator has been assigned the Curator designation on linkedinlearning.com, they will receive an email from LinkedIn Learning with more information about their Curator role.

The Local Union Curator is also the point person at the local for the TTF to contact with any enrollment issues that may arise (e.g., incorrect email addresses or questions about subscription status).
