Local 127's Safety First! Training Tuesdays
IATSE Local 127 from Dallas, TX is hosting weekly TTF Safety First! courses on Zoom. Their biggest challenge has been getting those who signed up to show up on time to the Zoom call, but they’ve established a good rhythm and will continue presenting through the end of the year. BA and Training Committee Chairman Gregg Pearlman appreciates how well-planned the course curriculum is and that it’s set up with a good flow and in the right order.
“It is awesome of the Training Trust Fund to create these TTF Safety First! Courses to be able to share. I feel that when we go through these as a group, it encourages more people to participate in the training.”
They’ve already taught the COVID-19, Basic Entertainment Safety, and Elevated Work Platform courses and will continue teaching TTF Safety First! classes every Tuesday:

11/17: Fall Prevention and Protection
11/24: Confined Space/Small Space Awareness
12/01: COVID-19: Recommended Guidelines for Preventing Exposure in the Workplace
12/08: Hazard Identification and Safety in the Work Environment
12/15: Biological Hazards
They’ll take a holiday break and resume in the new year. If your local wants to start teaching these courses, contact us.
