Scenic Carpentry in Orlando, FL | Local 631

This is an introductory course to stage carpentry designed to give an overview of the various components of shop and stage carpentry. It will cover everything from basic tool requirements and proper use of those tools to challenging rigging installs and finish carpentry for show.

  • General Safety

  • Know Your Tools and their proper uses: this will include demos and discussions of which tools are best for a particular job.

  • Know Your Materials: to include demonstrations of how some materials are better suited for particular jobs and how to properly use those materials for those jobs.

  • Chemicals in the shop: where they are stored and location of MSDS manuals.
