Motion Picture Television Workers Online Safety

Everybody deserves to feel safe and secure at work. When IATSE workers know the basics of workplace health and safety, we can help to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses on the job. These online trainings include the ”A” – General Production Safety and “HP1” Harassment Prevention 1 or “HP2” Harassment Prevention 2 Safety Pass online courses developed by Contract Services. These courses are only available to those performing work under the IATSE Area Standards Agreement or Production Workers’ Agreement. If you do not work under either of those agreements, click here.

Online Safety Training for MPTV Workers Covered Under the Area Standards Agreement or Production Workers’ Agreement

A – General Production Safety

This introductory course provides movie and television crew with essential information on workplace hazard recognition, safety plans, safety rules and regulations, and safe practices. Course topics include employer safety programs, emergency preparedness and response, fire safety, hazardous materials, health and hygiene, equipment and tools, studio lot and location safety, and severe weather and natural disasters. The A course replaced the A2 - Environmental Safety course on 3/25/2026. This course is also available in Spanish (Español).

HP1 – Harassment Prevention 1

This course will assist individuals to identify behaviors that create or contribute to unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. It also offers information on how to respond to incidents of harassment in the workplace. The course takes an average of one hour to complete. You do not have to complete the course all at once.

OR

HP2 – Harassment Prevention 2

This course will assist individuals in identifying behaviors that create or contribute to unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. It also offers information on how to assist in preventing and responding to incidents of harassment in the workplace. Individuals who have completed “HP2” – Harassment Prevention 2 will receive credit for “HP1” – Harassment Prevention 1. The course takes an average of two hours to complete. You do not have to complete the course all at once.

HP2 is for department heads, keys, and those with supervisory responsibilities. Participants are only authorized to take one HP course. Do not take both HP courses. You may be billed if you take both HP courses without authorization from the TTF.

Eligibility and Enrollment

These online courses are only available to those performing work under the IATSE Area Standards Agreement or Production Workers’ Agreement. Email your completed application to safety@iatsetrainingtrust.org and allow up to two weeks for processing. Once we verify your eligibility, you will receive an email from Safety Pass with a PIN and instructions on creating your online Safety Pass account. Use this PIN to create your Safety Pass account and enroll in the online safety courses.
