Students will study paint selection and application (getting more on the wall than on you), cutting in, rollers and pads, etc. They will be given detailed instruction about the different types of paints and stains and their proper uses.

• How to cut in and stipple

• Using water-based and oil paints and stains

• Tools and their uses

• How to read a paint can label

• Safety

  • Gloves, respirators, dust masks

  • Fire cabinet and fire bucket

  • Identifying mystery liquids

  • Proper disposal
