A Primer on Organizing Local Safety Training

Locals often ask us how they can get started with safety training. This primer outlines a few of the programs we developed to help your local union’s training efforts every step of the way — from providing an OSHA Outreach Trainer to developing industry-specific safety curriculum to supporting safety training through funding. We’re here to help!

  1. Borrow Our OSHA Trainer

    Do your workers need an OSHA 10-hour completion card? We can provide an OSHA Outreach Trainer to teach our OSHA 10-Hour General Industry with Focus on the Entertainment Industry course to your local.

  2. Develop a Local OSHA Trainer

    If you don’t have a local OSHA Outreach Trainer in your area and have a need for ongoing training, we can reimburse your local for the cost of tuition at an OSHA Training Institute. Your local will then have more flexibility when setting up OSHA classes.

  3. Apply for an IATSE TTF OSHA Curriculum License

    With a local OSHA trainer, your local can apply to use the OSHA curriculum we developed specifically for the entertainment industry: OSHA 10-Hour General Industry with Focus on the Entertainment Industry, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry with Focus on the Entertainment Industry, and OSHA 10-Hour Construction with Focus on the Entertainment Industry. With three options to select from, your local can present the type of OSHA classes your local workers need to recognize common safety and health hazards on the job.

  4. Apply for Course Reimbursement

    We support local union training through reimbursements that help defray the cost of group training. Submit the Course Reimbursement Application for your scheduled safety training before the class takes place. We’ll review your application and email your local about the expenses that are pre-approved.
