FAQ Friday: TTF Safety First! Online Courses

The TTF Safety First! Online Courses cover a wide range of safety topics tailored specifically for workers in the entertainment industry. We crafted these courses with industry experts who understand the unique challenges IATSE workers face. Through engaging content and practical exercises, you will gain valuable insights that can be applied directly to your work in the crafts.

How do I get started?
The TTF Safety First! Online Courses are part of our new TTF Courses & Resources Learning Platform. If you already have a TTF Safety First! account, your login credentials have not changed. If you don’t have a TTF Safety First! account, click here to download the TTF Courses & Resources application.

After we review and approve your application, we will email your credentials. You’ll have access to the TTF Safety First! Online Courses as well as OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Workbooks, Hazard ID Fact Sheets, and Safety Appendices.

Where do I log in to take the courses?
Click the “Log In to the Learning Platform” button on the TTF Courses & Resources webpage. We suggest you bookmark the login page to make logging in for future courses easier.

Have my login credentials changed with the launch of TTF Courses & Resources?
If you already had a TTF Safety First! account, your login credentials have not changed.

I am having trouble logging into my TTF Safety First! Online Courses account and cannot remember my username and/or password. Can you send it to me?
To log into your account, visit the TTF Courses & Resources webpage, click the “Log In to the Learning Platform” button, and enter your username and password. Your username is your first and last name followed by your local union number and month and day of birth. For example: Jessica Brown of Local 268 born on July 7 would be: jessicabrown2680707.

If you forgot your password, click the “Forgot Password” link underneath the login. Enter the email address associated with your account and we will email you a link to reset your password.

If you are still having trouble, you can email us to request your username.

I have not received a welcome email with my username and temporary password. What should I do?
After we approved your application, we created your account and sent you a welcome email with the subject line “IATSE TTF Courses & Resources (Formerly TTF Safety First!).” If you don’t see the welcome email in your inbox, you may need to check your spam, junk, promotions, or trash folders. If you are unable to locate your welcome email, you can email us to request that we resend your welcome email.

Can I take the courses on my phone or tablet?
The courses are optimized for use on a computer, laptop, or iPad/tablet. While the courses will be displayed on your phone (iPhone and Android), we do not recommend using these devices as the interactive activities will not work properly. You may also experience issues with internet connectivity when using mobile data, which may result in your progress not being saved. If you must use a mobile device, your work will not be saved unless you click “Exit Course” (top right corner).

What browsers can I use for taking the courses?
You can take the courses using Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer is no longer supported, and we are not able to fix any difficulties you may have with the course if you are using IE as your browser.

Why am I getting the message "Your internet connection appears to be unreliable at the moment. Your progress in the course may not be saved properly as a result. If you see this message more than once, you should exit the course and return when you have a dependable internet connection."?
You will see this message if the system senses your internet connection is not strong enough. When this happens, your progress in the course may not be saved correctly. If you see this message several times, we recommend you click “Exit Course” (top right corner) to save your course progress and try again later when you have a more reliable internet connection.

Will my progress be saved if I log out before I finish taking a course?
Yes, your course progress is saved every 15 seconds when you have a reliable internet connection, and you will be able to resume where you left off when you come back to the course later. To ensure your course progress is saved, click “Exit Course” (top right corner) before closing the course page.
