Rough Terrain Forklift Operator
This course makes use of the J.J. Keller training kit and student workbook for rough terrain fork vehicles. The training program is based around a classroom setting, which focuses on specific areas or modules of rough terrain fork truck training for Class VII (rough terrain trucks with pneumatic tires) lift trucks.
- Rough terrain truck fundamentals, controls, and engine operation 
- Operator’s instruction, warnings, and precautions 
- Differences between rough terrain and standard masted forklifts 
- Stability, balance, and capacity 
- Preoperational inspection 
- Site evaluation, overhead obstacles, and environmental hazards 
- Steering and maneuvering on rough terrain 
- Visibility issues 
- Vehicle attachments, operation, and limitations 
- Refueling and charging/recharging batteries 
- Electrocution hazards and overhead obstacles
