Rigger Rescue Training
The Rigger Rescue Training course aims to meet OSHA 1926 standards. This crucial training ensures that up-rigging employees are proficient in addressing the unique hazards of the rigging environment. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of rescue safety plans, personal protective equipment (PPE), and essential rescue techniques, including self-rescue and aided rescue methods for suspended workers.
Review and implement rescue safety plans
Evaluate and select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Familiarize participants with special rescue equipment
Cover the basics of rigging safety
Discuss hazards unique to the working environment
Practice and perform self-rescue techniques
Practice and perform aided rescue techniques

Trevor Jaha brings over 20 years of instructional experience, with more than a decade specializing in high-angle rope rescue access. As a Technical Rescue Rope Technician and instructor for the State of Georgia’s Search and Rescue Team, Trevor is responsible for instructing and certifying Technical Rescue Responders. He also serves as the Captain of Heavy Rescue 1 for the Savannah Fire Department, overseeing technical rescue incidents in the Savannah region. A dedicated member of IASTE Local 320, Trevor possesses an intimate understanding of the rescue challenges specific to these venues, leveraging his specialized knowledge and experience to ensure the safety of event riggers.
Jason Flickinger, with over 30 years of climbing, repelling, and rope rescue experience, and five years of rigging expertise, serves as the lead rigger and lead rigging trainer for IATSE Local 824. His experience spans multiple venues across the Southeast United States, and he is currently the Head Rigger for the Athens local. Jason's deep understanding of rigging challenges and his commitment to safety make him an invaluable asset to the Rigger Rescue Training course.
