This course is part two, covering fundamental cores of soldering small electronics for motion picture and television. Students will leave this course with a core understanding of theory and ability to put in place practical soldering skills.

Josh Anderson has worked in TV and film production for close to 20 years, from camera to electric. He works as a rigging gaffer and fixtures foreman specializing in prosthetic LED and pixel applications and large multi-generator and universe applications. He designed and built the prosthetic pixel suit seen in the film “Power,” the drone-based ghost lights from the Beyoncé Lemonade videos, and helped repair, maintain, and operate the suit lighting in the film “Underwater.” His formal training consists of an AA in media arts, a BA in film and HD, BA in motion graphics and visual effects. He’s taught online training videos for manufacturers of film and television dimmers and ran crews for film lighting repair for industry-leading rental houses. Prior to working in film and television, he worked as a custom fabricator and technician for custom automotive applications.
Katelyn Tyree is a Local 478 member working as a Fixtures Foreman. Before working in the Entertainment Industry, Katelyn worked at Intel in the “Fab” department as a Processor builder using the Copper Planar. She started working in the film industry in 2012 as an electrician. Her first chance to work in Fixtures was with Jurassic World, and she has worked on many other shows, including The Green Book, LBJ, and Greyhound, among many others.
