We believe online training can be a great way for IATSE workers to easily access programs remotely with the flexibility to meet their busy schedules. We hope this guide will help you apply for the online trainings that are right for you.

We are focusing on expanding our online and distance learning options to make sure training needs are still met and in the safest possible way. Here are some updates on our online training opportunities.

IATSE Local 140 taught their first TTF Safety First! Instructor Led Trainings this month through Zoom. They took the Basic Entertainment Safety and COVID-19: Recommended Guidelines courses and adapted them to distance learning.

From August 10-16, Safe + Sound Week recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America's workers safe.

Film and television productions are experiencing an unexpected need for remote networking because of COVID-19 distancing recommendations. To meet demand, Local 695’s James Hunt quickly developed a one-day Networking Crash Course that enables Local 695 workers to work remotely.

This new TTF Safety First! Online Course provides workers with information and recommended practices to minimize the spread of COVID-19 upon returning to the workplace. This course also discusses potential administrative controls to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread in the work environment.

Back in March, IATSE Local 8 decided to move their spring and summer in-person classes online due to COVID-19 safer at home restrictions around gatherings. Under the direction of Michael Barnes and with the collective effort of the Local 8 Education Committee, they have developed an extraordinary web-based training community.

This new curriculum developed by the IATSE Education and Training Department provides local unions a comprehensive, user-friendly training that covers the basic knowledge required for an individual to use their personal computer.

Five new trainers join a growing roster of 50 OSHA Trainers in 41 local unions actively teaching OSHA 10/GES classes throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

40 Hazard ID mini-courses are available in your TTF Safety First! account. New mini-courses include Truck & Lift-gate Hazards; Waste; Wild Animal Safety; Wildfire & Smoke Hazards; and Workplace Lighting.

Registration is officially open for InfoComm 2020 Connected, which takes place June 16‑18.

We’ve added five more mini-courses to the TTF Safety First! Hazard Identification and Safety in the Work Environment course: Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, and Poison Sumac; Power Lines and Electrical High Lines; Public Roads; Rattlesnakes; Rodents/Vermin.

Five new mini-courses have been added to the TTF Safety First! Hazard Identification and Safety in the Work Environment course: Mold, Mosquito-Borne Diseases and Standing Water, Mudslides, Neighboring Industry, and Pigeon Poop.

The IATSE Training Trust Fund exists to support IATSE workers. With so much of the workforce sheltering at home right now, we are ramping up our online and distance-learning resources to meet your training needs in the safest way.

OSHA today announced an interim enforcement response plan for the coronavirus pandemic. The response plan outlines procedures for addressing reports of workplace hazards related to the coronavirus. Fatalities and imminent danger exposures related to the coronavirus will be prioritized for on-site inspections.
